Strong essence of cabernet fruit here, with dark plum and blackberry opulence. Supple medium to full-bodied fruit has subtle tannin and oak, which gives it a pronounced fruit-driven mouth feel. Nice wine for the short term. 85/100

This wine ticks all the boxes for quaffable cabernet - firm yet approachable tannins, juicy and delicious blackcurrant-centric flavours and a pinch of earthy complexity. This is good, honest drinking at a good price too, indicative of the Conti ethos for value.

Is a delicious easy-drinking wine with lots of medium-bodied mint and red berry characters. It has fine tannins and a certain enticing elegance about it. Pretty good over the next few years?

The nose displays fresh vanilla and dark fruits. Integrated dry tannins frame black forest cake and mint flavours. Complex and interesting, this wine will benefit from additional bottle age. The Conti stable have resisted trendy fashions and just stuck to making reliable, fruit driven wines.

Lifted cedar spice and berries. Attractive ripe black fruit flavours interplay with charry oak. The 14.5 percent alcohol adds additional weight to the balanced, lip-smacking palate. Peter enjoys the ?complexity, fine tannins and good length?. Good, current drinking, its tannin structure will benefit from a further year to five years bottle age. Try with rich dishes such as lasagne.

This is a generous warm climate cabernet from Paul and Jason Conti at Wanneroo. There’s a refined, leafy cabernet aroma with that classical blackcurrant character. The palate is warm and friendly with fine tannins and ample flavour.

I was delighted when this wine made it to the finals. Stacks of warm-climate dark chocolate, mint and blackcurrent in a blockbuster. It’s a big full-on sucker, yet retains a surprising finesse and a palate that is silky and amazingly supple. Excellent drinking now or for cellaring.
